“Firework,” Katy Perry, Teenage Dream, Capitol Records
Jesus says in this Sunday’s gospel those who yield a rich harvest will receive the kingdom of God. Jesus reminds us that the people given the kingdom may not be who we expect, but instead those the world rejects. “Firework” is a song about letting your true self through, in spite of the judgment of others.
Key lines: ‘Cause baby you’re a firework/Come on show ’em what you’re worth/Make ’em go “Oh, oh, oh!”/As you shoot across the sky
Questions: What leaders inspire you? What qualities do you think a good leader possesses? What is something about yourself that you are proud of but don’t often share with others? How do you use your gifts to strengthen your family or community?
