Christian Meditation for Rookies is a six week online course designed to introduce newcomers to meditation and provide inspiration for experienced practitioners. The course consists of twelve lessons delivered to your computer, iPad or tablet; twelve guided meditation audios which can be streamed or downloaded to your computer or MP3 player; and online discussion, journaling and support.
Research indicates that regular meditation practice helps combat the effects of stress and has the potential to reduce anxiety, depression and physical pain. In addition, Christian meditation helps us live more consciously in God’s presence and rest more frequently in God’s love. Christian Meditation for Rookies is informed by current brain research and includes methods gleaned from the mindfulness meditation tradition.
For the best experience, plan to commit ten minutes per day four or more days per week. All you need is a computer, tablet or iPad with access to the internet.
Your instructor Connie Fourré was a high school teacher, Director of Faith Formation and then Wellness Coordinator for 25 years. She is an award winning author and in 2006 was a National Catholic Education Association Secondary Educator of the Year. She has presented nationally and in Canada on spirituality and Catholic social teaching.
