Jesus raises questions about law.

NARRATOR: Jesus taught his disciples about the law.

JESUS 1: Do not think I have come to abolish the law or the prophets; I have come not to abolish but to fulfill them. I tell you, unless your holiness surpasses that of the scribes and Pharisees, you shall not enter the kingdom of God.

JESUS 2: You have heard the commandment imposed on your ancestors, “You shall not kill,” and “Whoever murders will be liable to judgment.” I say to you, that if you are angry with a brother or sister, you will be liable to judgment.

JESUS 3: You have heard the commandment, “You shall not commit adultery.” But I say to you, people who look lustfully at one another have already committed adultery in their thoughts.

JESUS 4: You have heard the commandment imposed on your ancestors, “Do not take a false oath, but make good to God all your pledges.” I say to you, do not swear at all. Say yes when you mean yes and no when you mean no. Anything beyond that is from the evil one.
